Swedish triple Revlon 9 ar a Scandinavian addition to the postmillennial electroclash/new wave revival meeting retro-futurist scene, updating the synth rock 'n' roll of the recent '70s and late '80s with a magpie-like modern posture that includes influences ranging from Giorgio Moroder-style Euro-disco to the clattering crudeness of the no wave bands. Maria Eilersen (vocals and guitar), Asa Cerderqvist (vocals and synthesist), and Nandor Hegedüs (former lead singer of the Swedish pop group Brick, hither acting sea bass) formed Revlon 9 in 1998, primitively with a fourth appendage performing drums. When the drummer left, the left over three integrated a metal drum machine into the batting ordering and began moving into a more than electronic, dance-oriented dash. Three vinyl radical singles followed on small Scandinavian labels: 1999's "On the Roof," 2000's "Sharks," and 2003's "Someone Like You," an early variation of a vocal that would become a high spot of their first album. Starting in 2004, the triplet changed the spelling of its mention to Revl9n, although it's inactive marked "Revlon Nine." (It atomic number 50 can be fictive this was a sop to the transnational cosmetics troupe.) Following triple more buzz-building singles in 2004 and 2005, "Joined," "Walking Machines," and the newfangled mutant of "Individual Like You," Revl9n gestural to WEA International for their self-titled debut album, released in 2006.

Little's known around this group, even though their sole album, 1971's One Voice Many, came out on a major judge, Columbia. Sounding more like a volume from the late '60s than the early '70s, its folk-rock-psychedelic portmanteau word was unusual for conspicuously featuring the autoharp of Angel Autoharp (as she's billed on the path record), which sometimes functioned often as a principal guitar or organ would inside a rock candy lineup. Autoharp also wrote the corporeal on the LP, which presented both instrumentals (on which the autoharp took its strongest role) and vocal book of Numbers with male-female outspoken blends/alternations, all the while maintaining a slightly haunting until now sunny nip logical with the sound of many Californian bands of the eRA.

Are they talking?

Union, studios talking disconnect to new heights

SAG and the studios, locked in a deadlock and having held just one sidebar meeting since the social club contract ran out most a month ago, ar taking their disconnect to new high.

Late Sunday, SAG's tribal chief negotiator Doug Allen sent members a missive stating talks have continued within "small chemical group meetings and exchanges with the employers, their AMPTP representatives and a congress of Racial Equality group of leaders in both organizations."

He essentially told members to ignore any suggestions they might scan that at that place is "dead silence between our sides," Allen said. "Progress doesn't have to occur directly across the table. Discussions through alternate channels are ongoing as we work toward a fair deal for actors as shortly as possible."

The AMPTP, however, denied any back-channel negotiation have taken place. The studios' bargaining arm Monday refuted SAG's claims that informal negotiation are organism held.

"No meetings, formal or loose, regarding these negotiations get taken berth since the sidebar SAG requested on July 16, and no meetings are pending," the group added.

Allen was traveling and could not be reached for comment on the AMPTP's response.

The Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers did say that it would be open to overtures from SAG -- as retentive as the talks tortuous tweaks, instead than counterproposals, to the studios' "last offer."

"The AMPTP is always interested in exploring shipway to reach an agreement, and if SAG has an access that's consistent with the parameters of our June 30 net offer, then we are open to hearing that," the AMPTP said. "SAG's negotiators have not discussed with us any contrive to reach an

Cheryl Cole To Replace Sharon Osbourne On X Factor

Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud fame has been announced as the Sharon Osbourne’s replacement of The X Factor.

The troubled wife of footballer Ashley Cole will join the judging panel of the programme when it airs on Britain's ITV1 channel later in the year.

She will join music mogul Simon Cowell, pop manager Louis Walsh and singer Dannii Minogue on the hit show.

Rock matriarch Osbourne quit earlier last week amid speculation of a longterm rift with Minogue, sister of pop superstar Kylie Minogue, and reports TV bosses had refused her demands for a pay rise.

Osbourne went on to admit she had indeed asked for a "ridiculous" amount of money before resigning from the show after four years as a judge.

And the 55-year-old has given her blessing to her replacement, telling Radio One: "I've heard they're asking Cheryl from Girls Aloud, who I love. I'd like to see Cheryl."

Cole is ecstatic about her new role: "It's a massive honour to be following in the footsteps of Sharon Osbourne."

However, the pop star has denied the move will mean her days with Girls Aloud are numbered, adding: "The rest of the girls have said they're right behind me. So whilst we get started on the next album, it will be brilliant to be a judge on The X Factor."

Cole beat former Spice Girl Mel B and Welsh classical singer-turned-chatshow host Charlotte Church to land the job.

Do you think Cheryl has enough experience to take on the role? Be sure to leave your comments below.

Motley Crue - Sixx Praises Ontario Official For Pornography Comments

LATEST: MOTLEY CRUE rocker NIKKI SIXX has publicly thanked the Canadian city official who slammed the group's off-stage antics as "pornographic", insisting his outburst has only served to heighten their popularity.

Earlier this month (May08), Sarnia councillor Dave Boushy attempted to have the rockers banned from performing at Ontario's Bayfest concert in July (08), after claiming their appearance could harm the city's image.

He failed in his bid when his fellow officials refused to support him in censoring the outdoor event - and now Sixx has spoken out to express his gratitude to Boushy for helping to boost the band's reputation, reports Blabbermouth.net.

Bassist Sixx says, "He's right. People like him are always out to attack rock and roll, you know. God bless them, man. They keep our name in the press and re-ignite our passion to hold up our middle finger to all those people who really don't understand.

"If that's how these people have to get a little press, then that's their problem."
